Moving Johnston Street
After 15 years Hares & Hyenas relocates to Johnston Street, Fitzroy
Hares & Hyenas, Melbourne’s queer bookshop, announces it will open at its new location at 63 Johnston Street, Fitzroy before the end of November 2006. Rowland Thomson, proprietor of Hares & Hyenas, said: “While we are sad to be leaving Commercial Road after 15 years of operating the shop, we are very excited to be relocating to such a vibrant area in Melbourne.”
Location
It has only been since we opened at our new location that we became aware that the numbers in Johnston St. start again at Smith St. Please note that we are 63 Johnston St. Fitzroy not Collingwood. We are located between Nicholson St. and Brunswick St. down from The Provincial Hotel next door to The Spanish Club.

Events
We've already hosted two events with our next one on during Midsumma.
On Thursday 25 January, as part of the Midsumma Festival, the shop plays host to official Midsumma event Novel Conversations 4, bringing together an exciting range of authors in readings and conversation.
